Hello,
a colleague has left our team and he was the only org. admin.
He has a private email address. Please set up org. admin on my account.

Thanks a lot

Hello @Radek Hlava

Was the other person also the only person listed as a Billing or Technical Contact?

If the only Organization Admin/Technical Contact/Billing Contact used a personal email address to set up the product subscription, rather than using an email address provided by the company, then you must work with that person to have them grant Organization Administrator access to another member of your organization.

Atlassian can help transfer "ownership" of a of a subscription to another member of a company only if the current owner used an email address provided by the company. Otherwise, from Atlassian's perspective the subscription is privately owned, and it would be a violation of their terms of service to give Administrative access to some other "random" person. This is the response Atlassian team members have published in other Community Questions asking about the same scenario.

If another current member of your team was specified as a Billing or Technical Contact, then you may be able to get help from Atlassian to give that person Organization Admin access.

I think the simplest way would be to have the former colleague transfer the org admin rights to existing employees.

Or  ask him to start a free trial of a paid plan - in which case you could then contact the support to transfer the org admin rights.

The only other way I see is to export existing work items (csv) and import them in a fresh instance :/

Hello @Radek Hlava and welcome to the Community.

Please, I suggest that you contact Atlassian Support directly (after you fill in some details, you will have an option to open a chat with an actual person).

This is a public forum and we can't access your sites/orgs.

I have a small team of four programmers. That's why we have "free licenses."
Are we supposed to throw away all our tickets and create a new account just because a colleague with org. admin rights left?
That's stupid.

@Radek Hlava

I see. No you should not be forced to delete everything and start from scratch.

But first thing first, if you're using a Free tier version, you're not entitled to Atlassian Support.

However, free Atlassian apps like Confluence have a much simplified permission structure (there are no permissions) so this could play in your advantage.

I'm gonna ask other Champions.
