I don't see the "Start Progress" on JIRA ticket! What to do?

Has anyone encountered a similar problem in JIRA? I have been assigned to an issue but cannot find the 'Start Progress' button on the top bar.

Welcome to the community !!

There could be 2 reasons why 'Start Progress' is not displayed. Please check with your Jira admins for these points.

There is no transition "Start Progress' in the workflow mapped to the ticket type.
There could be workflow conditions so that "Start Progress" is not displayed to you. i.e. you are not fulfilling the conditions.
