Dynamic Forms for Jira now supports Jira Service Management 💪

Hi App Central friends!

The Deviniti team wants to share a long-awaited update: our Dynamic Forms for Jira app now works in JSM space, too.

The problem with service desk forms

We know from our customers that much of the pain around service desk forms comes from the form structure itself.

Let's say agents open a ticket, and half the details they need aren't there. Or a requester filing a hardware issue gets asked the same questions as someone requesting system access. Every team wants its own version of the portal form, and keeping several of those in sync by hand gets old fast.

If any of that sounds familiar, this update is for you.

What's new

Users can now configure Dynamic Forms rules for Jira Service Management projects and those rules apply directly on the Customer Portal. This means that when a requester fills in a form, fields show or hide based on the rules the admin has set up. So a hardware request and an access request no longer present the same wall of questions.

You can see how it works in a short video

The app support both:

  • JSM company-managed projects
  • JSM team-managed projects

The feature is available in the Advanced edition of Dynamic Forms for Jira.

What you can build today

Right now, Dynamic Forms for Jira covers the fields most portal forms actually lean on: Summary, Description, single-line text, paragraph (multi-line text), single select, date picker, and number. That's enough to handle much of real-world show/hide logic.

What's not in there yet is anything involving Labels, Multi select, Cascading select, Priority, User picker, Due date, or Date/time picker.

If your forms lean heavily on those, and plenty of more complex service desk setups do, our other app, Extension for Jira Service Management, already covers the full field set, along with some more advanced request-form capabilities beyond basic show/hide.

If you have any questions, feel free to share them in the comments section🙂

Have a great week ahead!
