Why are notifications not showing up?

In the last year or so I have found that I have missed many responses to questions I have asked in the Community because they are not appearing in the notifications.  Its intermittent; sometimes I get notifications and sometimes I don't.  Is this a general issue?

To clarify, I mean if someone responds to a question I've asked it quite often does not appear when clicking on the bell.  I will come to the community, see an empty bell, click on it, and won't see anything related to my question in the list - yet when I go to the question I see there are several responses.

Hi @Rob Horan

Just to confirm the context, are you missing notifications in: email alerts, mobile alerts, the bell icon / notification list in the community, something else?

For myself, I gave up on the email and mobile alerts long ago, and now only use the notification list (under the bell icon).  This is not 100% error-proof, as sometimes the date / time entries in the list are glitched, or the entire list is not working at all.

Kind regards,
Bill

The bell icon.  Email notifications wind up being noise, same with mobile alerts.  (there are mobile alerts for the atlassian community?)

Sometimes activity shows up, sometimes it doesn't.  It sometimes feels like the bell will do what it feels like at any given moment.

Thanks, Rob.

"See all notifications" under the bell icon has been stable for me for a while, although it occasionally still has a complete halt in updates...or shows the wrong date / time (where the posts are in order by the date / time value is wrong).

One recent "change" I have noticed: sometimes multiple posts to the same thread which are close together in time only display one of them is in the notification list.

Here's a good example.  I posted a question about cloud to cloud migration support for JPD and didn't see any notifications at all when people replied.

Interesting!  Let's see if one of the community managers can look at your watch configuration / the logs to learn why it did not notify you.  I believe you could ping them with this email address: communitymanagers@atlassian.com

UPDATE: I posted too soon, as it appears notifications have been down since at least 1000 Pacific Time, and there is no indication of the outage on the status pages.  And they just started working again, although intermittently.

Notifications for what? Are you referring to when you are @ mentioned?
