Starting on JIRA

Kevin Cousins March 29, 2021

Hi there,

JIRA looks awesome.

It seems to have everything you can dream of in a software.

We don't know where to start though.

Trying to understand and make sense of everything.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thank you

Kevin

Hi Kevin, welcome!

I'd like to share a suggestion for getting started in Jira that does not have anything to do with how to  use Jira or set it up.

Jira is a great tool, but just like any other job you want the tool to fit the work, not the work to fit the tool. So, before you start setting up Jira you should first understand the problems you are trying to solve, how you plan to solve them, and what the finished work looks like.

Understanding the end product and the steps you will need to take to get there will help you immensely as you learn how to use the tool.

Gook luck!

-Scott

@Kevin Cousins Welcome to the Community! Your best bet is to start with product collections that interest you, and ask any questions you may have there. Also check out our member journey and Friday Fun. 😄
