Welcome Wednesday: What would you like for Christmas?

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

Over the weekend, the kids were writing their letters to Santa to tell him what they would like this year. I know that I asked this question last year and it was very well received so I thought I would do it again. For any Atlassian Product Managers that regularly watch the Welcome Center, take some notes. winking face

If you could put any one thing on your Christmas list from Atlassian, what would it be?

I want to start by saying that most of the things I have asked for, Atlassian has delivered, so thank you! So that being said, I’m going to go big and say that I would like more self-service trouble-shooting in the Cloud products. When I was on Jira Server (R.I.P.) if a “Something went wrong“ error was displayed, I had access to all the log files to get more details about what “actually“ happened. In Jira Cloud, I would need to raise a support ticket. Most times it will simply work after refreshing the page and I don’t want to bother support unless it’s for something business impacting. But, if that error was a symptom of a larger issue brewing I’d love to be able to investigate it myself.

Alright it’s your turn, what’s on your Christmas Wish List from Santa Atlassian? Let me know in the comments below.

Have a great rest of the week everyone!

More sandboxes for cloud premium and enterprise instances! I've been hearing individuals call them "sadboxes" since only one is available and functionality is limited. Everyone seems to miss having multiple instances to POC ideas, test various products, promote easily from sandbox to production, etc.

More active whiteboards per user for the Standard plan OR a way to deactivate one and activate another one. I have pretty much avoided using whiteboards because of this limitation.

Oh my. Is it okay to create multiple accounts and send in multiple letters?
I generally like the Atlassian products we use, but there are so many (oh so very many) small (and big) things about the products, or Atlassian as a company, that just gets on my tits on a daily basis as an Org and Product admin.

If I have to select only one thing, it would be vastly improved communication.

It's damn near impossible to keep up with the Community here, JAC, the Cloud Roadmap, the weekly release notes, LinkedIn Posts, the Product Updates menu in the Admin Portal, and probably a bunch of other places I haven't found yet.
And then there's the many changes or additions that just seems to not get announced.

It's also pretty much impossible to know when an announced change/update will hit your site. It'll just be "Rolling out" until suddenly it's there.
Though sometimes you can sign up for notifications or watch a thing in JAC (and hope that it gets updated accordingly).

Emails about bigger changes (price changes and such) often come out with some specific information about your site or organization.
These emails never contains any information to identify the site/org, making it impossible to figure out what is being impacted and how if you administrate multiple orgs/sites.
The recent price changes for instance, I got three different emails about for three different sites and nowhere was it indicated which they were about.

I’m a simple man. Just give me a floating Table of Contents macro in Confluence Cloud like I had in Server and I won’t ask for anything more.

A free Atlassian t-shirt and a Sandbox instance with the same features and abilities as Production for JSM Standard plan!

A nice year in review for my favorite products! Also, if I could ask Santa for something personal, a new job that I actually want to take and one that uses Atlassian products would be nice!

Greetings, Community!

I recall @Hana Kučerová asked a variation of this same question a couple of days ago.  Please look here to see suggestions in that thread:

Kind regards,
Bill

At Fun Inc, we are heavy users of Confluence & Trello together, and I would love to have Trello macros for Confluence 🥹 like pulling up an existing card quickly or highlighting content and transforming it into a card.

On the top of my mind right now it would be awesome if I, when using Jira Automation to create a page in confluence, could also edit content of that page with information from Jira, and well, might be asking for a lot now, but being able to add a link to the triggering issue already in the automation would be nice.

Some teams don't work in Jira everyday well, second on my list right now would be more options to work with Teams in automation to send notifications to users in that team.

As Jimmy said, almost everything we (or our clients) requested was delivered or is being delivered as we speak. Kudos to that!

One thing I would like to have, on my private free site is Assets so I don't have to use third-party apps 🎁

Plus one Atlassian hoodie would be nice as well 😄

More whiteboards, nit just the three we are limited to, the business has reverted to other whiteboards and we're all muddled now
