Welcome Wednesday: How's the weather?

giphy.gif

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

This has been a "hot" topic as of recently that everyone I have been speaking to recently is talking about.  For where I live, it's freezing.  There are places that are colder and there are others experiencing a  heat wave.

My question for you this week?  What's the weather like where you are? And, if it's not what you enjoy, what are you doing to manage?

As I mentioned, it's beyond cold here.  The local weather channel has had us listed under an "Extreme Cold Warning" all week.  In our new house, we have a wood burning fireplace, which we have been making use of in the evenings.

So, what are things like where you live?  Let me know in the comments below.

Have a great rest of the week!

Grey skies, freezing (temperatures <0 C). 🥶 (Coping mechanism: staying inside, tea, coding/gaming) 😏

Here, around the middle of mainland Denmark (Jutland peninsula) (The part poking out from Germany) it's grey, foggy, a slight drizzle, and around 0C.
The sun rises after I begin working and sets before I'm done.

It's just my kind of weather.

Winter has definitely arrived in New Mexico! Two days ago we had 2°F temps with -10°F wind chill, yesterday it snowed at 28°F, and today we'll be up to 38°F with sun. But our Great Pyrenees loves it, she can't find enough snow and ice to sleep on!

When I checked at 7AM today, it was 43F/feels like 34F and raining (for most of the previous 24 hours). This would be a balmy day at this time of year where I grew up in upstate New York, but this is Orlando, Florida 🥶

I have been drinking a lot of tea, wearing the 1 pair of sweatpants I own, and I may get out the 1 sweatshirt. Oh, and being glad I don't live in the north anymore.

I'm in Southeast Wisconsin. Yesterday, schools were closed because the windchill was around -35F. Today, it's a bit warmer (currently around 14F and windchill is -4F), but it's snowing. We've been hunkering down at home when possible this week! Fortunately (?), my kiddos are both sick, so it's been a good week for soups, cozy blankets, and movies at home. 🤧

Hi @Jimmy Seddon! Hi everyone!

It is slightly chilly in Phoenix, but mostly the weather is wonderful! After the hottest year on record for the valley, it is a nice reprieve from the heat! It's been so nice wearing all my sweatshirts, sweaters and boots!

Temp this morning in central Virginia was 0 F. We have snow on the ground from not one but two storms over the past several weeks but beautiful sunshine reflecting off the snow and visible on the mountains to the west.

Much to be thankful for!

Slow start to summer here in New Zealand. Managing to get to the mid 20's C. About as warm as I like it really :)

Hi @Jimmy Seddon ,

The weather here in North India was pleasant, neither too cold nor too warm, around 10-15 degrees Celsius. Yesterday, there was a thunderstorm warning, but fortunately, it turned out to be just a warning, and the storm didn’t came.

In Sofia, it is getting warmer this week (-1 to 7 degrees C) which makes me sad, because I love the temperature range of -5 to 0. I feel very comfortable in the cold and my primary desire is being outside. With the temperatures turning the snow into a muddy mush, the best I can do is stay inside and work until I a very-muddy-to-be-dog forces me to go out 😆

Here in New York City and the outskirts we've been in the Arctic Blast for the past two weeks. It has been below the freezing point for 12 of the last 14 days. The real feel is often in the single digits (Fahrenheit of course). It snowed on Sunday night and although the roads have been cleared, nothing is melting and the static snow is starting to turn that ugly grey and dirt color that NYC snow is known for. It's affecting my mood - I have not been walking to the train or biking to and from the office due to the hazardous temperatures. Being able to get out in the fresh air before and after the work day is calming and therapeutic for me, so I am really missing that right now. Looking forward to some warmer weather coming this weekend.
