Streamline app security assessment with a new Privacy & Security tab on Atlassian Marketplace

This week, we are rolling out a new Privacy & Security tab on all Marketplace cloud app listings. The tab provides a consistent place to kick-off your app security evaluation, with key partner-provided information to help you evaluate cloud apps against your company’s security requirements.

What information will be displayed on the Privacy & Security tab?

The tab features 20+ fields where Marketplace Partners will be able to provide key privacy and security information about their app, including:

• Whether or not an app stores End-User Data outside of Atlassian products or services

• Whether or not an app supports data residency (and which regions are supported)

• Relevant app-level details related to regulatory compliance

• App permissions and security information

This consolidated information will streamline the app assessment process and set you up for success when kicking off a more in-depth security evaluation.

In cases where you want to know more about a specific app, you can find links out to partner security and trust centers, or partner security contact information to direct your questions to the right team member in the partner org.

What’s next?

Privacy & Security tab information is provided by Marketplace Partners, so not every app listing will have a complete set of information right away. However, over 700 cloud apps already offer this information, including over 80 of the top 100 most popular cloud apps sold on the Marketplace. We expect more information to become available in the coming months as Marketplace Partners have more time to provide it.

As this is a new feature, we recognize that our work is not done — this is just the beginning. We plan to continue improving this tab to ensure it offers the right mix of top-level information to help you quickly assess the security and privacy details of an app.

Apps should reside inside Atlassian instance not outside in another cloud
