Hi all,
*Update: The early access program (EAP) for Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) encryption has officially started. Please refer to the EAP documentation for more details. If you are interested in participating in the EAP, please reach out to your account representative or comment down below.
I’m excited to share that the early access program (EAP) for bring your own key (BYOK) encryption is almost here! We’re adding the finishing touches on the feature before we get ready to kick off the EAP in Q2 2023.
During EAP, you will be able to encrypt your Jira Issue data at rest using encryption keys generated and hosted in your Amazon Web Services (AWS) account via the AWS Key Management Service (KMS). While BYOK may not be for everyone, for customers with stringent security requirements, BYOK encryption will enable you to:
Add another layer of protection for sensitive data
Increase the control you have over your sensitive data by revoking access to encryption keys without vendor reliance
Monitor logs of access to your encryption keys hosted AWS CloudTrail.
The EAP is an invite-only program for enterprise customers that are on the Cloud Enterprise plan or a Cloud Enterprise trial. Please reach out to your account representative if you are interested in participating in the EAP. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a place for all customers who express interest in the EAP.
Follow along on our roadmap to get the latest details on our plans for general availability of BYOK and making BYOK available on Confluence later in 2023. In the meantime, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to comment below.
Cheers,
Bhavya
