why a powerup?

Karen Derrick-Davis February 1, 2018

Hi, I don't understand why it is advantageous to use the GoogleDrive or OneDrive powerup when I can attach a document without it.  Please explain!  Thanks! :)

Karen

Here are some key differences between using a drive account versus uploading a document to Trello...

  • Using a drive account, there are no limits on the size of the file, and the files are hosted on the drive account, not Trello
    • Uploading a document to Trello hasupload has a limit of 10MB per file (or 250MB per file if you're Gold/Business Class user)
  • Opening the attachment will open it in the drive, thus any updates you make will be auto saved to the drive.
    • Attaching a document from your computer, Trello now becomes the house file for that document.  When you open it, it opens on your computer and any changes made need to be saved to the computer and re-uploaded to your Trello card

N,o, you don't have to have a power up enabled to attach a drive document. Just go to attachments and select your preference.
