Because the billing modalities for Trello are now finally changing, I'm a bit late with cleaning up my boards.
I am a teacher and had given participants in courses of up to 40 members guest access in Trello to view handouts and follow a curriculum. How can I now continue for free. these people will not actively work with the board, but only want to download or read things.
Hi @Frank Wedel, you can see the current plan for a Workspace by opening the sidebar while you're viewing a board within that Workspace. The current plan will be listed underneath the name of the Workspace.
If all of those guests only need a single board, then you could upgrade the Workspace to Standard and only have to pay for yourself (assuming there are no other Workspace members or guests on multiple boards), or Premium if you want to make those guests "Observers", which is a read-only board member.
If you want to keep it completely free, you could also make the boards public and share them with your students that way, since they don't need to edit the boards, but keep in mind that would allow them to share the board to other people as well just by sending them the URL.
