keyboard shortcuts for switching between boards

Using the trello app on windows I notice that ctrl+number mostly switches between boards, but I can't find any documentation on the feature, and it seems inconsistent. I have a favourite board that I can't find the number for (it's alphabetically first).

Does anyone know the details of this shortcut?

I know that pressing b brings up a fairly quick way to switch between boards, but I really like the single shortcut of ctrl+ number for being able to go back and forth between my most important boards. I just can't figure out how the numbers are assigned, and why I can seem to get my favourite one to fit in.

B takes you to the board menu so you can select the board. However the ctrl+number is not listed anywhere. You can make any feature requests by writing to feature-ideas@trello.com to see if they will add short cut keys to go between boards using the numbers you specified above.

That infographic is great, but doesn't tell me about the functionality I was talking about. I don't think making a feature request is quite right, since the feature does actually exist. I just can't find anything explaining the details of how it works.

Since writing this post I starred three of my boards and now ctrl+ 1 goes to the first board, ctrl +2 goes to the second and ctrl + 3 goes to the third. Except occasionally it doesn't work quite. I think it's a great feature when it works, and just wish there was some explanation somewhere. 

But having the starred boards seems to mean that it's working in a way that makes sense to me, so I'm pretty happy.

It may or may not help but you can see the list of those shortcuts in Menu>Boards.

I don't get how those are chosen either, though. And they do change without reasons I can understand. Actually, most of the boards in my own shortcuts are boards that I can't access. Ideally, we could decide what shortcurt leads to which board, but I couldn't find any option for that either.

That's really helpful Héloïse, I hadn't seen that there was a menu thing that displayed what was on the list!

I've starred the boards I use the most, which puts them on the favourites list. It's not so hard to shift the order of the boards on the favourites (drag and drop) and that seems to set number for the shortcut (you might need to restart the app to update the list).
