changing username for existing user

for existing users,
if i change username, will i still be able to see all the comments that tagged my old username? 
will all the old username related comments be updated with my new username?

say my old username was keith6789876
i change to keith_taylor 
would the previous comments that tagged @keith6789876 be updated to tag @Keith_taylor instead?
