can't upload a pdf from computer in 'write comment' window on card

Hello helpful people. Something seems to have change in my use of the comment section in the cards of my trello account. I dont seem able to upload from computer my usual pdf and images into the comment area as I usually do. I can drag and drop files onto the card and then add a comment.

See attached image where I have a 'comment window' showing lots of helpful widgets (useful, but I dont usually see them, are they a new thing?) but I now cannot find a way to upload my pdf (the little picture icon only does pictures not pdfs) into the flow of my comment....just like the other user below has done on the same card. I used to be able to do this. Can someone help me get back to my normal mode of input.

this is what mine usually have to look like now....the item uploaded (ie drag and dropped onto card) and the comment added before or after the upload.

Hey there! Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I see you're missing the attachment button in the comment section. This is due to the new editor rollout we're implementing. The idea behind it is to provide additional customization options to text, but I see it actually disturbed some of your workflows. This gradual rollout process is also why some people can see the old buttons, and some can't. 

If you want a comment to include the file you just attached, you can do that by clicking on Comment by the attachment you just uploaded, and the editor will pop up with the file.


While this workaround might fix your issues, I'm still bringing your point to the Engineering team as customer feedback. While I can't guarantee they'll bring back the attachment button, at least I can make sure they take a look at it.

Thanks Renato, that is a workable option, I still need to upload file, then comment on it (2 step process) it is a good solution.
