automation slack tag person

Hi

I want to send a automated message via slack and tag a person.

I found this

To post a message to a direct message, you need to find the recipient's Slack member ID in Slack:

1. Go to the direct message channel and click on their profile

2. Click on the View full profile link 

3. Click on the ellipsis (...) More icon

4. Click on the Copy member ID button 

5. Paste the member ID into the "Slack channel" field in Butler's Slack action"

but im stuck on step 5. 

If I add #memberID in the message it will show the member id not the name.

If I add to to the #channel -  no message is send.

I have a #channel and there I want to @person but that doesn't seem to work.

I only shows "@person - automated message" in stead of "taggedperson- automated message"

how do I tag?

Hi Arjan! I'm afraid we don't have a way to tag a person in a Slack message that's sent to a specific channel, but there a few other options worth considering.

The steps above would let you send a DM to that person. You'll need to copy their Slack ID into the channel field in Trello, like this:

Another option is to ask that person to set up Slack notifications from within Trello. To do this, they will:

1. Open the Trello board
2. Click the Slack button at the top
3. Click Add mention notification
4. Choose the Slack Workspace from the dropdown and click Done

This will send them a notification in Slack whenever they're mentioned in a Trello card.

To bad my idea for tagging some one in a channel is not possible. (Yet)

Hopefully trello will implement this in the future.

For now I will just send them a DM.
