Would you have to pay for the same member on multiple workspaces?

We have a small team of around 14 Members and currently have a Main workspace plus my own workspace.

If I am paying for members on my workspace are they charged out seperately on the Main workspace? Or if a member is being charged on one workspace are they a paid trello member on the other workspace already?

I am just making sure we are not going to have to pay double for members on multiple workspaces

Hi @Fransie Dennee

It depends on the plan-level...

  • Standard/Premium: These are per Workspace, so you'd need to upgrade both Workspaces to take advantage of the paid features (including more than 10 collaborators)
  • Enterprise: This pricing is per user. You can then have unlimited Workspaces within your plan

This is confirmed on the pricing page here: https://trello.com/pricing

Given Enterprise needs a minimum of 50 users, I would consider either...

  • Merging the Workspaces if possible, so you only need to pay for one
  • Keeping one Free (if it has less than 10 collaborators)
  • If any of the 14 members could be guests instead - single-board guests are free (not billed) in a paid Workspace. See more information on this help page, and this page

If you upgrade multiple workspaces to paid and have the same user in them, then yes, they are paid for, but some of the workspaces might be able to stay free...

I've made this 10 min video on how the new rules work via various examples: https://youtu.be/rqmCHU_QxY8 (Your scenario is similar to Example 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqmCHU_QxY8&t=247s)
