Working with an international team, how can I make sure the calendar power up shows up in THEIR time

Mika July 18, 2024

Hi Trello!

I've made a board for our content marketing and added the calendar power up. I'm working with an international team so it's important that the card due dates show up in THEIR time zone (US), not my time zone (AUS).

Is the solution to just change MY time zone to THEIRS? Or is there a better workaround for this ?

Thanks!

@Mika I believe Trello should be showing them in their time zone, but can you have them check the profile they see in their user profiles here? https://id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/account-preferences

Thanks Brittany, the problem is I need the cards to show up on "Monday" for both time zones, if that makes sense? I don't want the card to adjust, I need the card to stay stable.

Me (in Australia) planning the content that will go live in the US. I've planned the card for "Monday" and I want both myself and the US team to see that it's Monday.

How do I solve for this?

@Mika hmm. could you make it later in the day on Monday your time, which would would then still be Monday in US?

Depending on if you need the due date functionalities (like reminders and calendar) stuff, then you could maybe use the start date field since its only a day and not a time?

Other than that, I think you would have to change your timezone. Trello is just saving a timestamp in UTC in rendering it in the timezone you've got selected, so I don't believe there's a way to say for a board to always render in the same time zone no matter who is viewing it.

That's such a smart idea about just making it later in the day!! Thank you! That'll work since we don't actually need the exact time, just the days right. Appreciate the quick feedback :)))
