Why isn't markdown edition optional?

Hello,

I came back to Trello after a few years and accidentally clicked on check the new editor and now whatever I type in a card description is formatting itself, dash becomes bullets and add lines I didn't request, lines break according their own rules, emoji options appear, etc. ok the era of "markdown mode"

I can understand people like this feature, but like line breaks in card titles that you still won't allow, these rules should be end-user options IMHO

I can hack the line breaks in title cards by pasting + shfit+V from a text editor to fit what I want, but not in description, no matter what I do, extra line breaks/space are added, and "-" become "bullets"

Is there a way to remove these markdown features?
