Why does date not work for a template card?

On the content calendar I recently created, I made a template card since my tasks are about the same. But I've noticed that the date field doesn't populate, so when someone goes to create a card from the template, they have to add the date. Also, is there a way to turn off the overdue stuff? I only want to put in a publication date and then be able to move it to my 'published' column. thanks

You are right, the date field is not copied from the template. The user has to specifically choose a date. Regarding the 'overdue' badge, if you mark the card as complete before you turn it into a template, then the 'overdue' badge will not appear (it will automatically copy the 'completed' status).
