Our agency utilizes comments to summarize the work that we do throughout the month. These comments usually start as a blank bullet list, and by the end of the month end up full of links to posts, pages, etc., and other updates.
Occasionally, we'll lose information from the comment when we go to edit it. We can only get that information back if we click out of the comment or hit the "Disregard changes" button, refresh, and then make the edits again. If we fail to notice any information is missing before adding new information and saving, we lose that missing info.
Here are some attachments for visuals.
#1 - At the beginning of the month, a comment is created in this format.
#2 - Throughout the month, the comment is edited and updated with work that we have completed, including various links to refer to work.
#3 - On edit, Trello clears out information. Hitting the "save" button will save the comment as shown. Hitting the "Disregard changes" button will revert the comment to the previous state (as shown in attachment #2). On edit again, we're able to make updates and save as normal.
We use the browser version of Trello as the desktop app majorly slows down our computer processors.
Is there something we're missing out on? Can we get the missing information back if we accidently hit the "Save button"?
Thanks in advance for the help.
It could be that changes were made but not saved (in one of the previous revisions), so it reverts to back to the previous saved version. In your process, could you ask everyone to click save after making an update?
Thanks for the response Gaurav. This has happened to comments only I've edited and saved, and has been the same case for other individuals at the agency. We haven't seen it happen to the comments updated by multiple different users.
