When to create a second workspace?

I'm a bit confused on how to use workspaces.  We have a company workspace but then I have employees with their won workspaces.  Currently, their to do lists and projects are all on their individual workspaces which they have shared with me.  So I have to change workspaces to look at their boards.  Is there a way to duplicate a board within both workspaces?  Seems cumbersome for them to have to change workspaces to go between their own and our company one and for me to have to change workspaces to see their projects for the company...

Hi Jon! 

If you are using desktop, you can go to your Home page as this has an overview of all the boards you belong to across all your Workspaces. There is a way to duplicate a board to another Workspace but that will be a one-off copy of a board: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/copying-cards-lists-or-boards/#Boards 

If you still haven't reached the 10 boards limit in a Free Workspace, I would also recommend to create a board within your company workspace to store everyone's tasks if this is easier for everyone.
