I have a free Trello account. In the past when I uploaded a document from my computer I could open the document from the card it was uploaded to. Now when I upload a document from my computer, when i try to open it, I do not see the document. Instead I get this dialog box (see below) which makes no sense to me. The file is already on my computer desktop and there is no option to put it on my Trello card.
I checked
and the section on attachments says "Attachments from your computer create an actual copy within Trello." This is not happening. How do I get it to happen?
Thanks for your help.
Hi Kimi,
Thanks for reaching out!
We made some changes to how attachments are secured, largely to make sure they're kept private. Anytime loading an attachment now, checks are made that the person has the board permission to view that attachment, so generally speaking, a good thing.
The unintended side effect is that it also made some changes to our preview service, so moving forward, only images and videos will be able to be previewed.
With the attachment in question, you'll need to download it in order to view it.
With all that said, I'll add this ticket to our feedback board for our product team, as I understand that it disrupts your workflow.
Please let us know if you have any other questions, and we'll be happy to help.
All the best,
Lara
