There was a recent bug that was affecting the search feature and preventing new cards from showing up in the search results.
A fix was released in the last few days for this issue so you should be good to go now.
Could you let me know if you're still unable to see new cards displayed in the search results at the moment?
It is fine now.
What was required from the support team was responding in the forums. More importantly https://trello.status.atlassian.com/ does not show any issues though this was present for a few days.
Users who use API extensively like myself were impacted quite a bit so a faster resolution is required.
