Trello power up alert option:display does not have any effect.

Charles Huang April 22, 2021

Hi guys,

Anyone had this issue before?

When I tried to do

t.alert({
message: 'test message',
display: 'error',
duration: 10
});

The alert just showed up as white-background banner.

I was expecting the alert to have some sort of accent colour. Am I reading the docs wrong?

Thank you,

Charles

Hey Charles,

Thanks for flagging this! We recently switched over to using a new component for our alerts across Trello, and this is expected, but our docs are outdated. From now on, when you fire `t.alert`, your message will always show up as a flag in the bottom left of your screen with your Power-Up icon against a white background color.

This change was made in part for accessibility reasons, since we think this component will pop up against custom Trello backgrounds a bit better for more people. We are doing some internal tinkering to see if we can bring background colors back in the future, so in the meantime, feel free to continue passing in that `display` arg.

Best,

Raymond
