My correct email address is on there and the notification settings is set to "Instantly - send emails as soon as possible" but it never sends me emails when someone adds a comment to a card answering a question I have asked.
It means I have to click on every card individually every day to see whether anyone has added any new comments or not.
I have also checked spam but there is nothing in there.

I’ve the same problem. I tried it with other adresses. With gmail it works. But with gmx or my company-Adress, it dosn’t work. But there is nothing in the spam.
It possible, that trello dosn’t send emails at such adresses.
Till November, we hat no problemes.

Not every event or activity in Trello will generate a notification, so it's possible that you're not meeting the correct conditions to trigger a notification.
For example, in order to receive a notification for a comment on a card, you need to be either a member of or subscribed to the card, or the comment needs to explicitly mention your @username. This page explains in a little more detail exactly what does and doesn't trigger a notification: http://help.trello.com/article/793-receiving-trello-notifications
