Trello code formatting box vs weird highlighting

Hello Trello Community,

When I paste in some code and use the code formatting feature, sometimes I get this super nice code box that's easy to read and copy from and other times it just weirdly highlights my code and doesn't add a box.

Is there a way to control this behaviour?

I tried to reproduce the behavior you described, but it seems that the code formatting box appeared as expected for me each time I added it. 

Just to make sure that cache/cookies and possibly some extensions you have installed in your browser don't hinder Trello's performance, could you please try reproducing the issue in your browser's incognito window? 

If that doesn't help, could I ask you to create a ticket through https://trello.com/contact? This gives us access to a few more tools to help investigate, and we can discuss information that can't be shared in the community.
