Trello avatar file requirements

I want to add an avatar to my Trello account. What are the file requirements?

• resolution (HxW)?
• file type (e.g. PNG, JPG)?
• alpha (transparency)?

Hi Chris,

I haven't found these details documented anywhere within Trello's docs, but I have found some answers through trial and error here.

• Resolution: There is not a firm upper limit here that I have found yet.  The images themselves have to be 10mb or less to be uploaded.   But the largest I can find that avatar after uploaded appears to be only 100x100 on the site.  But also this 100 x 100 size trims the outside edges because it is placing that image into a circle format.
• file types:  PNG, JPG, GIF (but it will not animate), and BMP will all work here (but other formats like SVG, TIFF, are not accepted)
• alpha: in GIF and PNG formats, the avatar does appear to honor transparency that might exist in that image.
