Trello Android widget

Shimon Woldmann January 13, 2025

I set up my daily tasks with due dates on trello desktop (Every list, as seen below, is set up for a different time slot and the cards in the list have the same due time, say, 13.00pm). Then I go about my day, checking in with the trello android widget to see, which tasks are next...

But why does the trello android widget put my tasks in a different order (apparently alphabetically) than what I put in place on trello desktop and how do I fix that?

The android widget should display the same order as the desktop application please

Hello Shimon,

Welcome to the community!

Have you tried clicking on the sort button on Android and changing it to sort by due date?

For more information on sorting, you can visit the following link: Trello Sorting Lists

Sort lists by clicking more options, then sort by.

Hello Allison,

Thank you!

I did try and that's unfortunately not applicable to my use case.

My use case chronologically for any given day:

  1. Imagine your list "onboarding" in above picture is instead called "due today 1pm to 2pm" and having a rule to the effect "every card that is moved or added into this list is due "today at 1pm".
  2. At 8 am today you add 3 cards to that list (on your desktop application) because you want to finish those 3 cards (each card symbolizes a different task) between 1pm - 2pm today.
  3. Then you manipulate the order of those 3 tasks in that list manually to suit your preference accordingly to which one you want to do first, second and third in the time bracket 1pm - 2pm.

UNTIL HERE everything is fine.

  1. Then you go about your day and are outside a lot (let's say, filming video clips in your neighborhood).
  2. BEING OUTSIDE you want to use your Trello Android widget to remember which task comes first, second and third in said time bracket.

CAN'T DO unfortunately...

BASICALLY I need the widget to mirror the exact same order of the tasks that I put in place in that list. Since they all have the same due date, the date won't help with sorting an further...

Hello, Shimon

Got it, thanks for explaining. Unfortunately, we don't have a built-in feature for that. However, you might try changing the card titles to reflect the order. For example, you could add numbers like 1, 2, and 3 at the beginning of the titles to indicate their priority. This might help keep things organized.
