@Michal Borza Welcome to the Atlassian community

It depends on the workspace.  If you have a premium workspace the users need to be premium users.  If you have a standard workspace and you invite a user that has premium then they will be fine to use the standard space.

You can also add guests. - https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/how-billing-works-with-trello-premium-and-standard/ See information below from linked page.

Can I add someone to a board without paying to add them to the Workspace?

Yes, as long as your Workspace settings allow adding Guests to boards, those users can be added to their first board for free. This can be useful for adding external members to your Workspaces, such as clients or contractors. Once the member has been added to their second board they become multi-board guests.

As a tradeoff, Guests will not receive some of the perks of Standard and Premium, and will not be controllable with Standard or Premium permissions (being able to deactivate a user/remove them from all Workspace boards at once, view their recent activity, restricting Workspace boards to Workspace-members only or a certain domain only).

Thank you very much, so: I as a project manager, which need to have (for example) a dashboard (and i am ready to pay for the premium) cant use it because the workplace is only standard one? Or the whole team of 20 people (workers) need to have premium account. Am i right?

@Michal Borza who is the workspace owner?

Michal Borza September 12, 2023

owner - probably company.
we have 3 admins - these 3 persons prefer to have premium tools (now they have only standard ones). rest of team will have only standard ones

@Michal Borza if you are the owner and you have premium then your team will need to have premium as well because the workspace and boards will be premium.

yop, thank you

Same question for me. What if I would have 3 admin user that is Premium user and the rest if free user and the board is just a standard board?

Jan Albertson Aragona September 27, 2023

Because mainly the board that we will be using only need atleast 1 admin user that will set up everything for them but the rest is going to be guest who will move card or do comments on the card so we really dont need to have standard subscription for the rest of the users. Is that possible?

@Jan Albertson Aragona if all users besides the admin are board guests and they are only a guest on a single board that would work.  Once their account has access to multiple boards then this would no longer apply.
