Sorting all cards automatically

Hi,

I would like all cards on all lists to be sorted automatically by date ascending automatically. This includes especially the following cases:

1) A card is moved from one list to another.

2) The due date on a card is changed.

I tried various rules but didn't succeed.

Many thanks for your help,

Josef

@Dr_ Josef Reindl welcome to the community! you can set this up via trello automation! You would head to Automations, then rules, and you will find the things you mentioned in 1 and 2 as triggers - check under the "move" and "dates" sections respectively.

As far as the action, after you select the trigger, go to the Sort section and the first action is sorting a list by due date ascending. You'll just need to add an action for each list you want to sort.

Note - this is VERY automation intensive if you have a lot of cards, so you might run out of those 250 operations very quickly if you're only on the free plan because each time you do one of those actions, it will run the command for every list, so just be aware of that if you have a lot of cards and a lot of lists.

You could also create a button at the top of the board that sorts all the lists just whenever you click the button. Basically you'd have all the same actions for sorting the lists, but it would only be triggered when you click a Board Button, so less frequently than anytime you move a card or set a due date.
