Search not working for a particular search term

I use the search bar sometimes. If I search for "HubSpot", I get a lot of results. If I search for "Land's End" I get no results.

I have a lot of cards with "HubSpot" in the name and description. I also have 1 card with "Land's End" in the name and description. Why are there 0 results for "Land's End?" I even get 0 results when searching for "land's" or "lands."

I searched with and without the apostrophe. Am I missing something?

You must escape the apostrophe: Land/'s End

@Clare Suereth  You must escape the apostrophe: Land/'s End

Thank you for you research into this!

However, it's definitely not okay that if I search for "land" that the card doesn't even come up. This seems like a definite bug to me and not a solution.

That doesn't happen to me. If I search for Land, I get Land's End. And, actually, NOW, the search works without escaping the apostrophe. Perhaps the Trello engineers fixed it?? That was fast.

FYI, the search now works in a browser and in the Windows app. No escape required.

It's still not working for me.

Can you "Clare"-ify what searches do not work, exactly? Partial word (Land), unescaped apostrophe (Land's), escaped apostrophe (Land/'s)?

Are you using a browser (which one)? Windows or Mac app? Mobile? None of those work?

For clarity, I am using either the Windows app Trello (on Windows 10), or the browser version (Brave, for me).

Yes. I'm using Google Chrome as a browser. On a desktop computer (with Windows 10, but the operating system is probably not relevant). Is this enough info?

@Clare Suereth So, it works for me without escaping the character this morning on both Brave and Chrome. Here is a screenshot. If this doesn't show what you are doing (a different search?), please explain.

I have a very simple Christmas board (personal) for this example. I added a Land's End card. And the search works.

@Clare Suereth welcome to the community! hmm, i wonder if the apostrophe is throwing it off, but its not an exact match without it. if you search "end" does it come up?

You might want to reach out to trello support on this one. I've had an example once where something wasn't showing up with a filter and they were able to help me figure out why!

Please see the answer by Tad Davis. He was able to recreate the problem.

Just FYI, many application search bars require escaping special characters. This is fairly standard behavior. While it might be a bug in Trello's search implementation, it might also be by design.

Now the word "land" "land/s" and the "end" are working. But not or "lands". I guess this is good enough. It seems like it's been fixed and if escaping the apostrophe is a thing, then I'll just have to remember that. At least it's improved! Thank you!

Oh wait a minute. If I type "Land/'s end", it still doesn't work. I'm not sure I have time to do a helpdesk ticket right now, but maybe tomorrow I will. Thanks!
