Permission to add/edit/copy cards

Hi - I am a Virtual Assistant and have recently been added to a clients private Trello board.  Whilst I have access to the board and can view everything in there, I am unable to add, edit, copy or move cards and lists within the board. I have checked the settings and I am under 'normal' settings. Do I need further permission from the admin to make amendments? I have checked the Getting Started guide and it appears that 'normal' should have these rights?

Atlassian Team members are employees working across the company in a wide variety of roles.

Is it possible that you were just added to the team but not to the boards? Being a team member allows you to see boards and members associated with that team, but does not give editing access to individual boards. You will need to join/be added to the boards as well: http://help.trello.com/article/717-adding-people-to-a-board

Thanks Torben. We have now figured out the issue, I hadn't joined the board correctly.
