Hi, Does the observer needs to register to Trello to view the private board shared with a link?
I would like to share a dashboard with customers, but I can't force them to register to Trello, but their IT will not allow that.
Yes! Observers can be thought of as normal board members without the ability to edit the board.
In order to join a board - either with Observer or Normal permissions - that person would need to sign up for a Trello account.
There is an option to make a board public, but that would let anyone with the URL view the board, rather than just that subset, so may not be quite right in your particular case: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/changing-the-visibility-of-a-board/
