Need a Checklist for CHOICES - NOT TASKS...

I need a clean looking checklist option that isn't for tasks. The current checklist crosses out the checked item, but I am trying to use the checklist as a 'these are the items we want for this order' list. It needs to be visible, not crossed out. I'd love to be able to sort the list to have only checked boxes at the top.

Is this possible?

My coworker found a CUSTOM FIELD checklist, but it looks terrible. The check boxes are below, not next to the item. So, they end up being between the item and the one below it, so it looks like a disorganized mess.

I need it neat and clean and easy to organize.

Hi @Christy Hawkins

Welcome to the community.

Checklists, although traditionally are thought of to be tasks or subtasks, they are more open than that. It can be anything you want it to be.

I don't think the option from @Renato Fagaraz will give you the solution you need because drop-down lists in Trello custom fields are limited to only 1 selection.

I can recommend an automation that will work, I'll use the shopping list example below:

Here I have an example where you have a checklist called Shopping List

When you check the items in the shopping list you want to order, it moves them to checklist Ordered.

When the items are received, you check them in the Ordered list and it moves to a checklist Received

This is how it looks:

And these are the 2 simple automations used...

Thanks. This looks promising. I'll see if I can make this work for my team.

Hi, Christy! Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

If you're looking specifically for choices, the checklist doesn't seem like the best solution. In this case, since you mention custom fields, I wouldn't necessarily recommend the checklist for the same reason, but perhaps the Dropdown field would work a bit better, what do you think?

Alternatively, I'd recommend checking the Power-Up Directory for dedicated ones with fields to better handle choices!

The dropdown option only seems to work for one choice. I need to be able to choice multiples somtimes. I'll look into the Power-Up Directory...
