I realize you can send it back to board and then remove the do-date and re-archive. But we have thousands of projects archived with the due dates still on because we used the list complete, so they just archived. But now, when running current exports to show work load, it still populates cards with due dates that have been archived.
There isn't an automatic way I'm afraid! But one workaround would be to use Automation to make the process a little easier.
For example, you could create a temporary rule on your board that would mark the Due date Complete when the card is Unarchived. That way you could set aside some time to unarchive a bunch of cards, then archive them again, and the automation would take care of setting the Due Date complete. When you're done, you could disable that rule so it doesn't trigger anymore.
For the future, you could have an automation to mark a Due date as complete when the card is moved into an appropriate list - something like "Complete" or "To Archive".
Alterntaively you could have a card button that marks the Due date complete and Archives the card.
