Hello
Trello has added this option to record a video with Loom on the activities.
Although I admire the effort, this buttom is really annoying, especially because it appears right on the side of the "attach" buttom, which is the one I use the most.
I couldn't find any options to hide or to delete this buttom from my cards.
Does anyone know if there is such an option?
Please stop the animation (the blinking/flashing) on the Loom icon that displays when adding comments in cards.
It's incredibly distracting and annoying, to the point I'd seriously consider switching our entire operations to another platform if it continued to work like this for an extended period of time.
Providing a means to hide the icon completely would obviously be one solution, but I wouldn't have any problem with it remaining there if it simply didn't animate.
Hi @SimonW , thanks for raising this. Does the button continue to animate once you've clicked 'got it' on this message?
If so, that's definitely a bug, and we'll need to fix!

Just came here to 2nd the idea that a little blinking button for an integration with a tool I don't use is water-drip torture. (For context, I'm close enough to ADHD that I ad-block any sidebar ads that so much as wiggle.)
There is no "got it" popover for me -- just a blinking loom button whenever typing a card comment.

@Jenny Yes it does continue to animate (just tested and it definitely is still doing it up to right now) and does this across multiple boards and regardless of hard refreshes or really anything else. I'm glad to hear it's a bug and not intended behaviour, and will look forward to it being fixed soon, thanks.

Sorry @SimonW & Xander if you've already done this, but just to triple check, have you both clicked the pulsing video record icon? Once you click it you should then see the purple message with the "Got it" button and after clicking "Got it" you should not see the pulsing anymore.
If you click the pulsing video record icon and it doesn't show that purple message with the "Got it" button than this would indeed be a bug and it would be great to get some more information if you have some time to share:
Lastly, I know these kinds of animations can be really distracting and adversely affect a lot of people (vestibular disorders etc.) so I'm going to look into adding a check for prefers reduced motion so it at least stops pulsing for those that have that preference set.

@Stacy Thank you, that has indeed resolved the situation for me. I now just see the icon the same way as the other icons it sits alongside. I don't believe it's intuitive that the icon would need to be clicked in order for this pulsing to go away, so please do continue to see what else you could do to help others who might be in the same situation.

Hi @Stacy I just now clicked the loom button for the first time -- it gave the purple message, and after I closed it, the blinking is gone (refreshed and checked other boards -- no bugs seen.)

@SimonW & Xander - Great news! Glad that sorted it. Agree that it's not the most intuitive. Sorry for the trouble and I'll get that prefers reduced motion check in soon.

@Stacy I used to be able to click on the camera to use Loom but now that feature is gone. Is this happening to anyone else?

@virtuallyinsync We did recently remove the video record icon from the bottom of lists on boards but it should still appear in comments on cards. There was an issue recently with the latest version of Google Chrome and the Loom SDK so we had to upgrade the Loom SDK to bring in a fix. If you try hard refreshing Trello does that bring the video record icon back by chance (not sure what browser you are using?)?

Totally agree with matheus da silva, Loom should be optional. Just add as a Power-Up instead. I will never use Loom personally because I don't want to pay for the service. The only reason this icon automatically appears must be because Loom is paying Trello (Atlassian). If Loom were completely free, then again, give users an option (i.e., Power-Up).

I agree. Just needs to be made less prominent.

Yes, I'd also very much like to remove loom. I regret clicking it!

Hi @matheus da silva , I'm sorry to hear this is causing some issues! There is currently no way to hide or delete this button, though it's something we may consider in the future, so thank you for this feedback!

Can you post the link to the "gatering interest" ticket of your backlog to put a thumb up on it... how annoying it is to enable new feature without thinking a way to disable it.
