I'm managing the Service Department for a Heavy Civil and Construction tech company, and we use Trello to help organize and schedule our installs and service calls in the field.
These installs are billed based on a number of labor hours and can often stretch multiple days. Is there a way to set the duration of a card, and then have it reflected in the calendar view across the specified number of days. For example I might have a card with a start date of Monday, but the labor hours quoted is 24. Could I then have that card appear in the calendar across Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday?
This is critical so we don't over-book technicians.
Not at the moment, but we hear you! We don't have a concrete release date set yet, but we're adding a Timeline view next year: https://blog.trello.com/future-of-trello
For now, the best bet is to record the project's duration in a custom field, or perhaps in the Card's title. If you work mostly from Calendar view, putting the duration in the Title might be best as it would be visible on your Calendar.
Any updates on this yet? We mainly use google calendar and need it properly integrated, but everything in trello shows up as 1 hour duration and the sync also does not reflect in a timely fashion for changes made. Is there a way to properly view the timing of the tasks in google calendar yet, or at least set duration in trello cards and checklists and have that reflect accordingly in the calendar?

Me too!
Even If the "due date" option had a "duration" drop down so the time in my calendar is accurate for a booking

I've been searching for alternative services that allow for a better integration with my calendar apps. Let's hope the work on this soon!
