When attaching from google drive, Trello provides ALL files and folders I have on my google drive (which is in the 100,000's). There appears no way to limit them to recent or utilize any kind of hierarchical folder structure. My only option to limit the choices is to search based on the name. This slows down my productivity almost to making the option worthless. Is there a way to get Trello to enable navigation to content based on my hierarchical file system or by date????

When you attach a file via Google Drive, you should be able to change the view and select a sorting option in the modal:
