I've spent a few days on Trello and love all of the features and extensions but I can't find any way to add notification reminders for cards. I know you can set due dates, but there is no way to edit or change the 24 hour reminder, which is crazy in my opinion. It is really hard to believe that one of the most essential, foundational features for any task/to do/project management system, like setting specific reminders/due date notifications is missing in Trello.
Does anyone know of a way or an extension to add this essential feature? If not, I'm tempted to use a different app until they add this feature. Thanks in advance for your answers!
There's not a way to change the timing of the 24 hour notification for due dates, but there's a workaround using Butlerbot Automation
To add custom automation using Butlerbot, follow these steps:
1) Add Butlerbot to your board here: https://www.butlerfortrello.com/dashboard.html
-- A new list will be created titled "Butler"
2) Add a new card to the Butler list, using the following text
the moment a card is due, post comment "@username, This card is due!"
Change @username to whatever username you want to receive the comment. You can change "the moment" to "two hours, one hour, six hours", however much in advance you want to receive the notification. This will add a comment to the card, mentioning you in the comment, and trigger a notification.
Let me know if you have any further questions about setting this up.
