How to validate the data (validation like specific format check, limiting the length of the text in field, Mandatory field check, etc.) once user inputs in Trello custom field (s).
Hi,
A little known feature in Trello automation is Regex support. You can use this to lookup text in almost every part of Trello from board names, list names, card names, descriptions, comments, labels and custom fields.
You can use this to help with this problem.
My example below basically, if the length of the string in the custom field is longer than 10 characters, it trims it to the first 10
when custom field "Character limit" is set to "regex:/(^.{0,10})(.*)/", set custom field "Character limit" to "{wildcard1}"
Thanks Mike. It helps to implement our required field validation(s) for the custom fields.
