Hello

I have a Digital Marketing agency and I want to create a Trello board for all my clients to monitor the progress of the work being carried out with each of them.

Is it possible for me to create just one Trello and create a card for each customer so that only they can view that card?

And is it also possible to create a CARD for each customer and limit its viewing within the board?

Hi @Vinícius Custódio

Creating a Trello board for managing and monitoring work progress for your digital marketing agency's clients is a great idea. However, Trello's functionality around privacy and visibility at the card level has some limitations you should be aware of.

Trello does not support the ability to restrict viewing permissions at the card level within a single board. In Trello, permissions are set at the board level, not for individual cards. This means that anyone who is a member of a board can see all the cards within that board. Therefore, you can't create a single board where each card is visible only to the respective client it pertains to.

However, you can consider the following alternatives to manage your workflow while keeping client information separate and private:

  1. Create a Separate Board for Each Client: You could create a dedicated board for each client. This way, you can manage each client's projects on their respective boards and invite only the relevant client to their board. This maintains privacy and ensures that clients only see their projects.

  2. Board with Client Lists: Another approach could be to have a single board where each list represents a different client. Within each list, you can have cards for various tasks or projects for that client. This doesn't solve the visibility issue, but it can help keep your projects organized if privacy is not a concern.

  3. External Communication: For updating clients on their project's progress without giving them access to your Trello board, you could use visual timeline provided by Planyway power-up. You can send the PDF of the view or the Excel file with detailed information.

Cards are visible to all board members. You can use Hipporello Share Card power up and client will only see the cards on the portal.

@milynnus

if I want to share the board with all my clients, and I want them to view only one card and not the others as "observers", can I do that?

@Vinícius Custódio

An observer is a board member so all cards can still be read by an expert observer.
