How is a member of a shared workspace or board notified when a task, on a card is assigned to them?
1) It depends how the set up is.
2) Does the user have notifications managed/enabled, if so, they should get an email

I'm not sure if they do. How is that done?
Each user has to go to their profile (upper right) and check their notification settings.
