Whenever I make a card with the title "---" it doesn't make it a seperator card. How do I make an automation so that whenever a card is given a label, it's told to convert to a separator card?
@Funpark22 do you have any sort of automation that adds information to newly created cards (e.g. labels, members, etc.)? It's not possible to add labels for example to a separator card, so if butler is automatically adding a label to all new cards, then it will just convert your separator card into a regular card.
If butler is not adding things to new cards, and it's still not working, can you share a quick screencast of you trying to create a separator card?
To create an automation in Trello so that whenever a card is given a label, it converts to a separator card, follow these steps:
Open Butler Automation Menu: Trello provides a feature called Butler which allows you to set up automation rules.
Create a New Rule:
Go to the Butler section in Trello and click on "Create Command".
Choose "Rules" to set up a new rule.
Define the Trigger:
Set the trigger to "when a card is added to the board with the label [your label]". You can choose the specific label from the dropdown menu.
Set the Action:
Add an action to “convert the card to a separator”. This can be done by using the "rename the card to "] separator [" and "add checklist named 'separator'".
Save the Rule:
Save your rule and enable it.
Here’s a simple example of how your rule might look:
Trigger: When the card is added to the board with the label "[Label Name]"
Action: Rename the card to "] separator ["
If Trello's built-in Butler does not have an exact "convert to separator" action, you might need to rename the card or add a checklist or some other identifier that acts as your "separator".
Remember, if the automation options vary based on updates to Butler or Trello, you can always refer to the most recent Trello Butler documentation for the most accurate steps.
