How can I embed Outlook 365 mails & replies in Trello cards

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a solution that would allow me to execute the following workflow for Outlook365 mails :

- I send a mail to an external member

- I click on something in a manual way to make a Trello card out of this mail

- The card is created in the board with elements of the mail (object, content)

- Within the card I see a preview of the mail & the thread

- When there is a new answer, it gets updated in the preview within the card, that way I don't have to keep looking for new replied in the mailbox

I found this is possible to do through the powerup "Gmail by Cardbox", unfortunately it works only for gmail accounts and not Outlook 365

Do you have any ideas on how to solve this ?

By the way, I tester Trello official add-in to Outlook, but it does not meet my expectations, it only translates a mail content into a card without any preview of the thread, so I don't get an update when there is a new replyGmail cardbox.PNG

Hi @iliaskzz 👋

Christl from SendBoard here - makers of the Email for Trello Power-Up.

We bring email into Trello so you can leverage the power of trello and email all in one place. Check out this video for an overview of the PowerUp.

You're welcome to pop any questions over to hello@sendboard.com or simply add the PowerUp to give it a try.

Hope it's the solution you are looking for!

Hi @Christl de Wet  thanks for taking time to reply

I spent some time trying to set up and user SendBoard, it seems like the idea is whenever a new email is received to address XXX a new card is created on the board. Isn't there a way to manually choose which ones to convert into a Trello card?

Thanks

Hi @iliaskzz

That's correct. When a new email is received it creates a new card on your board. Replying to an existing email will attach to the corresponding existing card.

The PowerUp is generally used for shared inboxes (e.g. support@, sales@, orders@ etc.) where you want all emails to create a card, but our users use Email for Trello in a variety of ways.

If you don't want all incoming emails creating a card on your board, you can set up filters on your forwarding/redirect rule to only forward certain emails to your board or you can manually forward select emails to your board.

Feel free to send over any questions to hello@sendboard.com. We'd be happy to help!
