Hey there. So say I have 3 different boards, with the colors Yellow, pink and purple. I have setup cards on these boards to be due on the 8th at 12am, and when I go to my calendar view I see this.
I would like anything that's on the purple board to be first in my calendar list, anything on my yellow board to be next on my list, and anything pink to be last on this list. So I want it to look like this...
So first, does anyone know how Trello chooses how it orders boards when in Calendar view (it doesn't seem to be alphabetical, or based on due date, etc)? And second doesn't anyone know how to customize this order? Thanks for any help!

Hi @Neil Blevins - Great question! I don't believe the cards in that specific Workspace Calendar view is sorted in any obvious manner. What I have noticed is that multiple cards on a board will be grouped together if they have the same due date. This tells me it's sorted based on the board rather than card.
Unfortunately at this stage there doesn't appear to be a way to manipulate the boards to change the order in how the cards show up. I will write up a feature request for our team to consider adding a manual way to sort the cards in the Workspace Calendar view.
Thanks for the reply Lam! So MOST of the time multiple cards on the same board stick together, but not always, see attached image of my board right now, all have the same due date, but the purple card is right in the middle of the yellow. So looks like the order they're picking is more complex than cards sticking with their own boards.
Heck, if the boards would order themselves on a specific day based on when they're due, I could use that to manually sort the different boards. I could give each board a slightly different due date in order to make sure they appear in the order I want (like all purple are due at 12:00, all yellow due at 12:01, and pink at 12:02, etc).
But anyways, thank you so much for writing up a feature, hopefully it can be added in a future update. If you need any more info or testing, please feel free to reach out.

One last note on a way that Atlassian could set up board order without changing too much interface. When I go to my calendar, I get a URL like this...
https://trello.com/w/somelist/views/calendar?idBoards=board1,board2,board3
Maybe it could be setup that the order the boards show up in the url define the order they appear in the calendar, so if I made the new link:
https://trello.com/w/somelist/views/calendar?idBoards=board2,board1,board3
And bookmarked that link, it would affect the board order on a particular day. Just a thought.

I find it hard to believe that there is no way to just manually reorder the boards by drag and drop. I use Trello for our annual trade show events and its driving us crazy that they are all in the wrong order. Or, providing an optional date field that one can then sort by, would work fine too. So much of what one does in business requires ordering in some way, I cannot understand why it was not always a standard feature. Please Trello, can you make this happen!

I totaly agree. I find it hard to believe that there is no way to just manually reorder the cards on a specific day in the calendar. This is so annoying.
