If my organization has one board and I invite my client to this one board as a guest/observer what will they be able to do? I tried adding myself as a guest (using a different email address) and I can't seem to check off anything on the checklist or make comments or do pretty much anything but look at a card.

Trying to allow client to interact with my team as we work on a year-long project and I don't want to invite my client and then be like ok nope this project management tool won't work.

Guests and Observers are a bit different, glad to help clarify - a Guest is someone who has been invited to a board, but isn't a member of the Workspace the board is in.

An Observer is a permission level that can be applied to any board member in a Premium Workspace. It's a read-only member of a board (almost). They can also comment--if your settings allow it--and download attachments, vote, and export the board.

If you want your client to be able to interact with the board, I'd suggest setting them as a Normal member. That way they can edit/create/delete cards, add comments, edit descriptions, etc - they can do everything any other member of the board can do!
