Hi

We used to be able to paste a OneNote link as an attachment to a Trello Card.
It would generate two attachments, one linking directly to the OneNote desktop app, one using the web based app.  We use this a lot.

When we try this now, we get the error "We're having trouble loading data"  and cannot attach OneNote links. This started recently, within the last week or two.

We can paste the link into the Description, but would prefer to manage this as attachments.

Has there been a change to Trello attachment handling to prevent this?  Is there an alternative way to attach OneNote links?

Hi Cathy, we will look into better supporting these links but in the meanwhile you should still be able to attach the link to a card by just copy + pasting the link when the card is open (without evening opening the "Attachment" menu).

Thanks - we preferred having it as an attachment.
But will paste the link into the card details for now.

Thank you for your response.

We also use it a lot for documentation referencing which is now made very difficult by the change. Also, the suggested solution doesn't really work, because the link from onenote contains the part that opens the app directly which is giving the actual error. Please do revise the changes so that we don't have to look for different solutions. Thanks

Hi, I'm having a similar problem with onenote links, I pasted them in the card with the link format [](onenote:...) and Trello Web (in window) seemed to parse properly the link and worked without problems, Until now.  since today Trello is not parsing the links and only understands the http part this is not acceptable as the "to app" links used to work this perfectly, this is a critical part of our daily workflow, please helpimage.png

When pasting into the body of the card, actually paste 2 links, one to the desktop app and a second to the Web. Second link to the web, works OK, but the fist one (whick goes to the desktop app) trello doen not recognised it as a link, so it paste only the name of the Onenote note as a text, not as a link.

Onenote links starts with "onenote://" but suddly trello doesn't recognise those links as links.

Yes! this is incredible, we have these functionality as a critical part of our workflow, to link our onenote pages with the cards in trello, suddenly this doesn't work anymore!!! big disrespect with users in general Trello team please help with this.

Pasting into the body of the card works, clicking the link opens the OneNote in a web page (O365), not the desktop app. Perhaps there's a permissions issue? or is it that it doesn't open the desktop app like it used to? @Richard Savický @Γιάννης Μπερδούσης @Andrew Fecenko

It only works when copying from web version of OneNote and there you can't for example reference paragraphs only whole pages and of course a lot more limitations for work, unlike the desktop application. And when you copy links from desktop it includes the "onenote://" part which Trello no longer support. That's the issue and from a user standpoint it makes no sense. I've been happily using Trello for years but already started to use Clickup to make up for it.
