I am not close to an advanced user but am ready to dive in and use Trello more. First question: how do I automate certain cards to be emailed to me at a recurring time when I want them to be set? Second question: I am getting an automated email from a card I set up previously through Butler but I can't find the card on any of my boards now. Strange. Thanks for your help!

For setting up automations that email a list of cards to you that match a certain criteria, you would set up a Scheduled automation (formerly known as calendar automations): https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/creating-reports-with-butler/
To access this section on your board, head to the Automation Menu > Email Reports > View My Email Reports. There are a number of pre built email reports you can use, or you can create your own based on cards that match a specific criteria. The guide linked above provides some examples of how you can get these set up.
Regarding the card you set up previously, do you notice any previously set up rules that might be causing this? Similarly, does the email have a Card URL that points to the card? This might help lead you to the board where the rule might be set up.
