Does anyone know how to get Email to Trello to read dates?

Hi,

So I am tasked with creating a workflow board for my team. I have the email to Trello set up so the Sales engineers can email whoever and cc the board so it automatically creates a card under my team members name. However two of the gentlemen on my team have expressed they don't want to really do anything except have one spot to look at what's due. so I was wondering if there is a way to use the email or use an automation rule to set the due date automatically based on what the Sales engineer said?

Or if anyone has any tool recommendations for this to work instead I'd appreciated it. My office uses Outlook incase that is relevant to anything.

Hey @Jamie Wilkins - welcome to the Community!

Unfortunately you can't populate the due date field when sending cards to the board via email, you can only populate the fields described in the following help doc under the title Formatting tipshttps://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/creating-cards-by-email/

I also sense it would be quite hard to automate this as well.

You might want to try a Power-Up to see if it works better for your workflow and has the features you're looking for. Here's a sample search of Power-Ups that may be able to assist you: https://trello.com/power-ups/search?q=email
