Is there a way to drill down on the dashboard charts to view the information which is contained within the chart.  eg 21 items overdue how do I see what those 21 items are in the dashboard

@theresa mackin pretty much anything you see in dashboard, you can filter in the board view. So in this case, just head to the board view and the filters button and you can select the "overdue" filter to show only the overdue cards on the board.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Most of the gadgets link their output to the search behind the result.  Depending on the gadget, you should be able to click on "21" to search for those issues.

Dashboards can not drill down, their data is potentially extracted from many places and hitting drill down would break other parts of the display.
